HAPPY CHRISTMAS: On behalf of all in the AUL, I would like to wish our sponsors Murphy's Irish Stout, The Evening Echo Sports desk, clubs, players, referees and everyone else involved in the game a very happy Christmas and Merry New Year.

Carrigtwohill United F.C.

On Friday 30th December 2016 the club will host a charity event in aid of GROW.

At the Carrigtwohill Community All Weather Facility, 2 matches will be held back to back against local opposition. First Carrigtwohill United B will play Knockraha followed by Carrigtwohill United A against St John Bosco’s. All players and supporters will be asked to make a donation towards this charity.

GROW is a Mental Health Organisation which helps people who have suffered, or are suffering, from mental health problems. Members are helped to recover from all forms of mental breakdown, or indeed, to prevent such happening. GROW, founded in Australia in 1957 by former mental sufferers, has a national network of over 130 Groups in Ireland. Its principal strength is the support members give each other from their own experience in matters to do with mental health.

As part of the release of the New Coach Education Pathway which I have attached the New Visual, we are introducing coaching courses based on the following three key areas:

1: Reality Based Learning – Where coaches can enter the pathway now at the age specific / level they are working.

2: Competency Model, in which every course now has specific entry and exit competencies which will see the programs delivered in a more holistic approach and the move away for the ethos of final assessments.

3: The alignment with the Player Development Plan

With this in mind the New Adult Intro (Coaches currently working in the adult game); New Youth Intro (Coaches working within the Youth Game; New National D Licence (Replaced the old youth certificate) and the National Goalkeeping D Licence are being released for their first ever deliver in Cork in January as part of a Coach Education Festival of Football which will see the following courses taking place that weekend:
