ALL SET TO GO FOR THE NEW SEASON?

With the new season coming fast, here is the usual reminder to everyone with regard to sending information into me for coverage on the AUL Pre Season Spread on the Evening Echo.

As usual, we will have a major preview which will be published closer to the start.

There are a lot of pages to fill, so we need your help and it is a great opportunity to publicize your club and your team.

Here are some suggestions:

Developments during the summer – pitch improvements, new facilities.

How did your AGM go? Any significant changes at the top i.e. new Chairman etc.
Feel free to list your committee members and their functions.

Who is the manager? The assistant? Or any of the backroom staff.

Any new signings? Players graduating from the B team? Up from the Youths? Who is the captain for the new season? Have you lost players? Are last season’s top scorers still with you? If so, who are they.

Where did you finish up last season and were you happy with it?

What are your aims for the season? Will priority be given to cups or league or consolidation in the section you are in?

Who got your annual awards: Player of the year? Top Scorer? Clubman of the Year?

NOTE:  IT  WOULD  GREATLY APPRECIATED  IF  YOU  COULD  SEND  THIS  INFORMATION  TO ME AS  SOON  AS  POSSIBLE.

P.S.   PLEASE   SEND ON AS MUCH INFORMATION AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.

Many thanks for you help and the best of luck for the new season.

As usual, I can be contacted at 087 7936608 or barrypeelo28@gmail.com

Cheers,

Barry.

National ‘C’ License Conversion Course
September 25th 2016 Cork – Venue TBC

The National ‘C’ License Conversion Course is a one day course used to convert your Youth Certificate Qualification into a National ‘C’ License. The National ‘C’ License course has been designed to bridge the gap between the Youth Certificate and the UEFA ‘B’ License. The conversion course will see your Youth Certificate converted into a National C License by being introduced to the New Theory and Practical that is now on in the National C License. As of 2017 the Youth Certificate will have been fully replaced with the National ‘C’ License, and there will be New entry points for coaches to be released in September 2016 which will allow coaches to enter the pathway at respective levels they are working at. To secure a place on the conversion course please email warren.bolger@fai.ie for an application form.  For futher information please contact Coach Education Manager Niall O Regan on niall.oregan@fai.ie

Block 2: 31st Aug. & 1st Sept. 2016 (2 days)
Block 3: 29th & 30th Nov. 2016 and 1st Dec.(3 days)

The National ‘C’ License is a New Course which has been designed to bridge the gap between Youth Certificate and UEFA ‘B” License. The course has also been designed to help provide a more sequential journey for our coaches through the pathway and insure that when they reach the UEFA Licensed Stage that they are best quipped to deal with the challenges coaches face at this level. The course is delivered through a blended program with a balance of practical and theory. As of 2017 the course will have replaced the Youth Certificate. The New FAI Coaching Pathway will be released in September 2016 with New entry points for coaches allowing for coaches to enter the pathway at the level they are working at. This entry point system will see coaches developing the skills that are best suited to their needs. Keep an eye out on social media for the Pathway release! FAI Coach Education CPD event Cork September 2016 application
As part of the redesign to the coaching pathway there has been an introduction of a new FAI National C License Course. This course will be introduced in two formats; one with the introduction of the course between now and the year end 2016 which will see the course completely replace the Youth Certificate in 2017. Two, through the medium of conversion courses which see coaches who have currently passed the Youth Certificate complete a 1 day conversion to the National C License. On completion of this course coaches are awarded the National C License and certified with 7.5 hours CPD. The cost of the conversion workshop is €125.00. These 1 day conversion courses are being introduced in four areas as follows:

September 25th 2016 Cork 9am – 4.30pm
With an additional CPD Performance Analysis Work Shop from 5.30 – 8.30pm (including assignment amounts to 7.5 hours CPD)

Additionally there is the option to complete an additional work shop in the evening which would see you complete the New Performance Analysis Software as well as receiving software package for 1 year.  As of June 2016 the FAI Coach Education Department are now using HUDL Software (the software used by the Republic of Ireland Senior International Team) as their Performance Analysis Software. In this 3 hour course you will learn how to manage the software and how to best use the software for your team going forward. Once you complete this 3 hour workshop you will then be given a match analysis task using the software and once you return the Match Analysis and Session Plan related to the topic assigned you will received an additional 7.5hours CPD at a cost of €125. With this in mind, should you wish to complete both the conversion course and the workshop and receive the full 15 hours CPD the cost is only €225.

Under the UEFA Convention a UEFA Licence holder must complete 15 hours CPD every three years in order to validate the licence. This has a bearing on the Irish National League club licencing requirements.

Should this be of interest to you please complete the attached form and return by email to warren.bolger@fai.ie by no later than mid-day (12pm) Friday, 2nd September 2016.

Note that if you have any questions in relation to the attached please email coachesassociation@fai.ie and your query will be answered.

Many thanks.
 Warren
