Medals galore in Mayfield. Local library displays mementoes from all codes
A rare gathering of sports medals from All Ireland GAA to Road Bowling.

| Pictured at this morning's launch of the Sporting Medals exhibition (August & September) are curator Jim Ryan and Lord Mayor Damian Boylan examining some of the fantastic medals won by (mostly) Cork people over the years. Danny O'Neill was the other curator. The exhibition is in the Cork City Library in Mayfield and the third person in the photo is the Library's Richard Forrest. Many GAA medals, as you'd expect, but all sports are covered. Quite a few of them have been "hidden", almost lost over the years. Now is your chance to see these mementoes of stirring sporting feats.The display runs through August and September. Well worth a visit!
