Texaco Support for Sport initiative


 

Members of Bandon Ravens Basketball Club pictured being presented with their €5,000 prize as winners of the 2023 Cork County award in this year’s Texaco Support for Sport initiative.

 

The award was presented to the club ‘to help increase its membership base’.

Commenting, former Irish rugby international and broadcaster, Donncha O’Callaghan, who oversaw the judging process, described the Cork club as ‘a really worthy winner’.  He went on to add: “Bandon Ravens is a fantastic club, fully dedicated to girls’ basketball. Its success in this initiative shows how keen members are to ensure that their club remains an important part of Bandon community life”.

 

Two previous Cork winners were Riverstown Amateur Boxing Club, Glanmire (2021) and Rockbán Ladies Football and Camogie Club (2022).

 

Entries for the 2024 Texaco Support for Sport initiative will open this Autumn.
