The Grattan United side that had an 8-1 victory over Business League side Brew Boys in the new Murphy's and Beamish Cork County Cup competition at O'Neill Park on Friday evening.

Murphys & Beamish Cork County Cup   Results:

Grattan United cruised through their opening game of the above competition with a comprehensive 8-1 victory over Brew Boys (Business league) at O'Neill Park.

Grattan were dominant throughout and led at the break 4-0 with goals coming from Christy Bullman (two), Christy Driscoll and Aaron Magee.

Man of the match Christy Driscoll was a thorn in the Business League's side while turning in a superb performance over the 90 minutes.

Aside from scoring two goals in the action, he was also pivotal in many of the offensive ploys for the AUL side.

Elsewhere, Munster Senior league side Everton won their game at home to Drinagh (WCL) 3-2 and down in Dunmanway, AUL side Coachford defeated Dunmanway from the WCL 3-0.

The final game in the opening round of the competition will take place at the Mayfield Community School on Sunday morning, 6th August at 11am between Doolins Cow (Business League) and College Corinthians (MSL).
