Everton 1 Kanturk 0
Andrew Cotter’s 14th minute strike gave Everton a hard earned 1-0 win over Kanturk in a Youths One game dominated by defences. Cotter’s chance came after a great run by Colin Fielding and the scorer made no mistake as he drilled his shot to the left of the visiting keeper.
Kanturk were finding opportunities hard to come by against an Everton defence where Errea Sports Man of the Match Eoin Cronin was outstanding.
The best chance of the second half came to Everton’s Trevor Dunlea when, in the 57th minute, he cut in from the left and shot from an acute angle but his effort came off the upright.
Kanturk finished strongly. Tadhg Collins came very close to scoring when he hit a tremendous effort inches over the bar. And then a great Peter Early pass found the inrushing Eugene Sullivan but he blasted wide from 18 yards out.
