County Cup final in Mallow June 1983 Ref: C11. Victory for Brideview United.
Brideview, who had defeated Buttevant in the thrilling County Cup semi-final in Tallow, had to travel to Mallow for the final but they brought their good form with them, and goals from Stephen (1-0) and Philly Curley (2-1) helped defeat the homesters 2-1. It was a good year for the County Waterford club as they also won promotion as champions and also won no less than £150 (yes, pounds!) in the Harp Lager Golden Goals Competition.
