To-night's 1A game at Moneygourney between Douglas Hall and Grangevale.

Douglas Hall 0-
0 Grangevale (Friday at Moneygourney).

Title contenders Douglas Hall were held to a draw after failing to break the deadlock following their scoreless encounter against a resilient Grangevale United at Moneygourney on Friday night.
The game itself was not the best of spectacles as both sides tried hard but failed to make any kind of impression worth talking about - especially in the final third of the pitch.
And apart from Eric Maher’s forceful effort that came off the post via the hand of Stephen O’Sullivan near the end of the first period, chances on goal were kept at a minimum.
Finbarr Desmond did come close with a free kick near the end for the Hall, but Gary Aherne stood up firm to finger-tip his effort away from the target.

This draw now means that Douglas Hall with 9 games played have 22 points and are 11 points behind leaders Kilreen who have 33 points after 12 games.
So, the scene is certainly set for Kilreen Park next weekend where Kilreen Celtic and Douglas Hall come together in one of the big clashes over next weekend.
Kilreen will not be in league action this weekend as they face Rathcoole A in the 4th round of the AOH Cup tomorrow afternoon at Kilreen Park.
County Cup 1st Round: Buttevant 0-1 Strand.
Strand booked their passage into the second round after a closely fought County Cup 1st round tie at Buttevant last night.
Tommy Buckley got the only goal of the game after just two minutes.
Thomas Lacheiner was Strand's hero also after saving a penalty in the 80th minute.
