THURSDAY'S ACTION

With Leeside and Park concentrating on Sunday’s AOH Cup semi-final, it looks as if Kinsale and Ballyphehane should pick up league wins on Thursday evening. Grattan too are expected to gain another three points though manager Pat Caulfield will know the dangers of derbies when they make the short trip to take on Castleview in O’Sullivan Park.

It is an important night in AUL 1 with both Ballincollig and Douglas Hall, the teams expected to catch long time leaders Richmond, in action. Ballincollig will expect to see off Lee Rangers (who rather like this type of challenge) while the Hall could have it tough enough against Postal Celtic.

Buttevant, surprisingly the bottom side in 1A, will have to start picking up points soon but homesters Inter City won't make it easy. Blackpool Celtic are fighting for survival in AUL 2 and are away to Glenvale.

Hibernians, the leaders in 2B (having received three points from a walkover by Central Rovers) will hope to pile more pressure on leaders Blackstone by defeating Village Utd. But Village still have an outside chance and their players are fighting for places in the team for the forthcoming City Cup quarter-final against the very same Blackstone.

Three of the top sides in a very competitive AUL 3 are in action and all are expected to win. Carrigaline should be too strong for visitors Examiner/Echo while Leeview would just about have enough in hand away to Springfield. Ballincollig will enjoy home advantage against Hibernians who won't be easy meat.
