Thursday’s Inter-League final for the Keane Cup, between the MSL and the AUL, is off due to the death of the father of AUL assistant manager Declan O’Regan. The manager, the squad and the AUL extend sympathies to the O’Regan family.
The AUL will be in action in the open round of the national competition for the Oscar Traynor Cup at Casement Park on Sunday afternoon (2.00pm). Kildare DFL are the visitors and Cork manager Richard Fitzgerald has announced the following panel: Alan Crowley, Alan O’Mahony (Ballyphehane), John Paul O’Sullivan, Mark O’Sullivan, Brian O’Sullivan and Pat O’Connor (Grattan Utd), Jason Keegan, Mick Looney, Joe Lyons, Mick Kenneally and Derek Delea (Leeside); Pat Tynan (Greenmount), John Betts (Villa Utd), Cian O’Callaghan (Lakewood), Tom Murphy (Wilton Utd), Andrew Keegan and Patrick O’Connor (Togher Rovers) and Micky Forde (Glenthorn Celtic). Fitzgerald has requested that all players be at Casement Park at 12.45pm; if there is a problem, contact Richard on 086 8807065.
