Coachford added the Murphy’s Stout Premier A title to the AOH Cup as they defeated long time leaders Park United 2-1 in a tension filled play-off at O’Sullivan Park on Saturday night.

Park, beaten twice by their rivals in the two league meetings, stole an early second half lead. But, despite the long hard season, Coachford rallied to the cause and skipper Paddy Martin equalised with a terrific free before young John Hogan held his nerve to fire home the winner from a disputed late penalty.
