AOH CUP
Dillon’s Cross 0 Glanworth Utd 1

Glanworth United advanced to the first round proper of the Murphy’s Stout AOH Cup with a  1-0 away win over Dillon’s Cross in Saturday. Dillon’s opened brightly but Glanworth took the lead on the half-hour and had the better of exchanges after that in a game ruined by the high contrary win at Silverheights.
Dillon's missed a string of presentable chances before Glanworth went ahead in the 30th minute when Fergal Fitzgibbon hit a strong free kick which Mick Normoyle could only push away. Unfortunately for him, Darren Kelly was lurking unmarked at the far post and he smacked the ball into the back of the net.

In the 51st minute, following a corner, Kelly hooked the ball towards goal, but a Dillon’s defender cleared it off the line. Then, in the 59th minute,  Kealan Cotter came close to increasing the Glanworth lead. He rose well to head the ball firmly from a corner but Wayne Mulcahy was on the line to prevent the goal.
Glanworth were now running the show. In the 65th  minute, Glanworth’s Brian O’Rourke chased a long ball and was in on goal but his control left him down and that allowed Normoyle clear the danger. Fitzgibbon went close with a couple of Glanworth chances before Dillon’s fashioned a rare opportunity in the 75th minute. Jay O’Donnell got in a strong header but keeper John Paul was in a  good position and saved comfortably.
