Join us for Mud Quest, the most fun you´ll ever have
in a state of filthy exhaustion.

What is it? A 6km off-road adventure run between Barryscourt Castle and Slatty Bridge in Carrigtwohill, just twenty minutes from Cork City and right alongside Fota Island.

Be prepared for up to 20 natural and man-made obstacles from scrambling nets to bridges, tunnels and old walls. And oceans of mud! You don´t have to be quick or strong to take part but you must be prepared to challenge yourself and have a laugh. Leave your pride at the start line and pick it up when you finish.

This event is open to teams of four or more and individuals as young as 16 (under 18s, though, must have their entry forms counter-signed by a parent or guardian). There are also special deals for groups of 20 or more. For companies or clubs this is a perfect event for a team-bonding session or simply a fun day out that people of all fitness levels can enjoy.

What next? The event takes place on Saturday September 26th but entries are being accepted now. An early bird price of €42 is available until June 30th. After that it will cost €47 from July 1st until August 31st and €52 for a limited late entry period from September 1st until 19th September. However, demand is expected to be very high for one of the biggest events of this kind in the Cork region so early booking is advised.

There is a €5 discount for each individual that enters as part of a team and large groups in excess of 20 competitors will be hosted in our VIP area after the event for prizes and presentations. Also your entry fee includes hot food, a special Mud Quest t-shirt and personal accident insurance (not that you`ll need it!)

What happens on the day? Registration will take place in the Community Hall in the centre of Carrigtwohill where there will be a changing area, toilets, showers, food and drink. From there, Questers (that´s you) will make the very short journey to the start/finish area in Barryscourt Castle. All you will need is a towel and a change of top which you can leave at the finish line.

Gym instructors from our sponsors NRG Xpress will be on hand to put all Questers through a suitable warm-up. After that? It´s just you and the course and the friends you think you have....!!!

On average the course will probably take about 90 minutes to complete but there is no time limit. A drink, a snack and a warm-water wash down will be available at the finish line - the wash first!

Back at the Community Hall our sponsor Ballyseedy Home and Gardens will host a BBQ for all Questers and the carnival atmosphere will continue long after the mud has been washed away.

Please join us for a very special event and a day out like you´ve never had before.
