A brief focus on Thursday’s Fixtures:
On Thursday evening, there will be some very significant league encounters going on with all the title-chasers in action as we start to reach a crucial stage of the season.

In AUL 1, what a cracker looks to be in store down in Pat O’Brien’s Park between Springfield A and Carrigtwohill A. I am really looking forward to the outcome of this one.
Then, in Monard, you have Fairview who are flying at the moment against a Dillon’s Cross side that have been unbeatable for the last number of weeks.
If you are to look at this section realistically though, you would have to say at this point in time, the race for the title is between, Fairview, Carrigtwohill and Springfield A.
And it’s a pity that Dillon’s Cross did not show the fantastic form they are currently showing in the first half of the season because they would certainly be included in that list.

In 1A, the two favourites to win the title here are also in action on Thursday,
Douglas Hall travel to the Farm and will be expected to take all three points against the student’s A team while Kilreen travel to Donoughmore in high spirits to be confident enough of coming away with the three points.

In 2B, third place Cathedral Celtic who are well in there with a shout for the title will make the short trip to O’Sullivan Park to take on neighbours Central and despite Central’s low position in the table, these local derbies can be very dodgy at times from a results view point.
The other big game in 2B will take place down in the GACA Grounds in Glanmire where Brooklodge take on second place Corkbeg.
Brooklodge are in a very deceptive position and in sixth spot, they look out of the limelight a bit. But, they have a great chance and have every right to be considered big challengers for the title. With just 11 games played, they have a chance to chalk up enough points to be right in there with a shout.

So, tune in to me once more tomorrow night on this space and after the action, I will have all the results with the usual update and review on performances plus a current state of the relevant tables after Thursday’s action.
Good luck to everyone.
Cheers,
Barry.
