Corkbeg AFC 5 A SIDE Tournament 2009

Corkbeg host their annual 5 a side tournament commencing on Monday Night 20th July. One of the highlights of the summer soccer season, The Corkbeg tournament is running since 1978 and is played at the club grounds in Whitegate. The tournament is open to all teams from pubs - clubs - Firms - one off teams formed by pals - and the entry fee is €70. Many club teams from MSL and AUL use the tournament as part of their pre-season training programmes. The format is group matches on the qualifying nights Monday - Thursday with knock out matches for the group qualifiers (eight teams) on finals night (Friday 24th July). Group matches are 15 mins in duration. Teams consist of seven players (5 Players + 2 subs ) who may interchange at any time. Apart from no offside all usual soccer rules apply and the games are refereed by official referees.
