As the local soccer scene draws to the end of an exciting season the Cork C&C Youth & U17 League promises an exciting finish which may go all the way to the wire and beyond.

Local rivals Innishvilla and Leeside Knockraha are neck and neck as the league title battle goes into the final game of the season.
However in a bizarre fixture decision local League Fixtures Secretary Tony Fitzgerald scheduled second placed Villa from Innishannon tp play their final game on Easter Saturday wnd the league leaders, Leeside, on the following Wednesday.

Villa immediately cried foul because the schedule would let Leeside know exactly what result combination they needed to secure the title.

At a league meeting on April 6th the committee supported beleagured sectreary Fitzgerald.

Villa Secterary, Finbar Walsh, has pleaded with the league to follow the FIFA ethos of Fair Play and schedule both games to be played at the same time.

"This is a great time for our players and our small Village. We will appeal this all the way to FIFA" said Villa Manager Ray O'Sullivan
