VILLAGE UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB REVIEW 2007-08

The Village United club didn’t have a bad year at all with both teams pushing for promotion to the end. Chairman Kevin O’Sullivan: “The Premier A side had a good start and were then hit by injuries but were still there with five to go. However fair play to Blarney Street and Wilton. They beat us when they had to and we finished third for the second year running. But we hope to go better next year. Highlight of the season was Killian Burns winning the Golden Boot Award with Wilton’s Paul O’Mahony.”

“The B team too just fell short at the end. With 5 games left they were also still there but injuries to keeper Thomas Butler and a few others meant they just came up short also but Declan Healy and Declan Cronin have a young squad and they too will be back next year.”
