DONIE KELLY - the first AOH Cup winning captain..


Donie Kelly, the former Greenmount Rangers and Crosshaven defender, died at his home in Camden Road on Nov 21, writes Plunket Carter (who also supplied photo). He was the first captain of an AOH Cup winning team. Donie skippered the Crosshaven team which beat Abbey Rovers after a replay in a thrilling inaugural final at Turner’s Cross in 1952.
Condolences are extended to his family.
